The sound of your breathing Your sleeping head like a statue of a future queen skin over chrome that time it rained for 2 million years that time people were only divided by blood The sound of your breathing Your sleeping head like a statue of a future queen skin over chrome skin over chrome

Signs indicate a close of business raw woodchip panels bargaining hens in yard too much to sift through partisan hopefuls volumes of memoir intricate conspiracies and archaic beauty advice grind chicken bones into a fine powder mix into a paste with sour milk at night apply under the eyes to tighten the skin and sleep low on a plastic pillow the screaming starts If you can't stand the heat what made you think you would be a suitable sacrifice to the lava goddess? Get off my boat this very second and don't forget your concrete slippers this game has gone too far

Waves crash against the family scolding air a pentagram in the night drawn in smashed windscreens across a long stay air port car park easier said than done embroidered on the cabin crews tunics pass the oxygen masks I feel a fall coming on a healthier nut the ladder reaches its own end place your bets strike your matches cut your chord collapse tenderly into the arms of fate we will one day climb this pyramid of corpses and pluck the satellites from this terrible vault

Horny butches causing trouble. Love all over. Emotions running high and stupid. Lover over, love all over. Tell Your fortune with cherry stones. Swallow a dozen with a pint of salt water Pick through your vomit . Each recovered stone marks a percentage return on your next marriage. Horny butches causing trouble. Love all over. Emotions running high and wild. Lover over, love all over. Do what you want Because the future does not exist Do what you want Because the future does not exist and your enemies they are too many to count

about

"With their fragmented poems, scattered beats and deep, reverberating vocals, Ignatz Höch has a distinctive creative voice in Berlin's experimental scene - while seeming to belong to no scene whatsoever. Twisted lyrics, sometimes stolen from old movies and showtunes, other times resembling half-memories of wild parties, and a musical landscape so swampy that listening feels like sinking." - Ben Osborn

Examine Your Kindness is a new collection of minimalist showtunes by Ignatz Höch. The record is inspired equally by the narrative exuberance of MGM musicals as it is the unsteady environments of Carl Crack's Black Ark record. These are songs about protest expressed through counter rituals. They contain directions for esoteric beauty routines and fortune telling by vomit. Songs to undermine the claustrophobic ceremony of low budget air fare. Songs that will carry your gifts home from the party. Songs to bind our basic drives to a disorientating world.

The record is specially presented as an interactive personality test. Constructed using lo-fi videogame tools Twine and Bitsy, it is a psychological toy, a low stakes game, an instruction based concert hall, a chaotic scrying surface. The test can be taken here: ignatzhoch.itch.io/examine-your-kindness

Examine Your Kindness is also available as a limited sculptural edition. A small glass vial containing a 9mm casing, lavender flowers and melissa-geist. The casings, conventionally used for hand gun ammunition, were found on the pavements of Neukölln, debris from fireworks.

Ignatz Höch, aka Tom or Judy Moore, is a genderqueer artist currently working with drawing, video games, zines and historical portraiture. As well as making music, in recent years they have released a photo taxonomy of wasp galls, a true crime zine about FBI informants, and was hired to make the ambient edit of Bruce LaBruce's film The Misandrists.
